Annually, the Marathon School District offers developmental screenings of preschool aged children residing in our district. These screenings are recommended for children when there are concerns regarding a child's development or suspicions of a disability. The district can conduct this screening for children in our community as early as the age of 2 years, 9 months. If you have a child younger than this age and have concerns about their development, please contact the Marathon County Birth to Three program at 715-261-6580 to schedule a screening.
The Marathon School District will not host a specific Child Development Days, but will provide a developmental screening for your child if you are concerned about any of the following areas of development:
- Gross Motor, Fine Motor: movement and physical development
-
Communication: using sounds, words, or gestures, understanding others
-
Cognitive: learning, thinking and problem solving
-
Social-Emotional: understanding emotions, play skills
We are including resources for typical child development milestones in this outreach letter to help you determine your child’s needs.
To initiate a screening, please call Jody Seubert at the Marathon School District at 715-443-2538.
