Welcome to the Principal's Office
It is my privilege to serve as the Principal of Marathon High School, a position I have held since 2000. My career in education began in Technology Education, with prior teaching experience in the Stevens Point, Menasha, and Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School Districts.
My commitment to the Marathon community extends beyond the school walls. My wife, Lara, and I are proud residents of Marathon, where we have raised our four children. Lara serves as the school nurse for the Marathon, Edgar, and Rosholt School Districts.
In 2021, I was honored to be recognized as the Wisconsin Secondary Schools Principal of the Year, a testament to the dedication and collaborative spirit of our entire school community.
Marathon High School is dedicated to fostering a comprehensive educational experience, emphasizing both academic and extracurricular excellence. We are committed to providing students with the tools and resources necessary for success. Our 1:1 Chromebook program ensures equitable access to technology, complemented by interactive smart boards and other advanced educational technologies throughout our classrooms. Our faculty consistently engages in professional development, integrating evidence-based practices to enhance the learning environment.
We take immense pride in our sustained academic achievements, which underscore our commitment to student success. Notable accomplishments include:
- Recipient of the 2007 National Blue Ribbon Award.
- Almost 40 consecutive years of state qualification in Academic Decathlon, with multiple state championships.
- Consistent success in Mathletics (Math League).
- Consistently high performance on ACT Aspire and ACT assessments.
- Recognition as a "Best High School" by U.S. News & World Report in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.
