MVA students create quality products that are complex, authentic and demonstrate craftsmanship. Through research, analysis and synthesis of multiple perspectives and disciplines, students demonstrate a complex understanding of each expedition. These experiences connect to the design principles, Service and Compassion and Collaboration and Competition. Students develop meaningful, authentic connections to the their studies through local and regional topics, exposure to experts and community service projects. Their experiences in an authentic environment drive quality work production and enable students to persevere through the revision process. MVA students participate in a multiple revision process. Individually, students critique their own work through self critique and reflection. With peers, students participate in T.A.G. protocols to receive feedback. Lastly, students are presented with feedback from teaching staff. MVA students are learners with the ability to persevere to show craft, complexity, and authenticity in the products.
